Rubiaceae, commonly known as the coffee or madder family, is a large family of flowering plants with over 13,000 species. It includes well-known plants like coffee, gardenia, and cinchona. Distributed worldwide, Rubiaceae species range from herbs to trees. They’re characterized by simple, opposite leaves and often have interpetiolar stipules.
