Ficaria verna, also known as lesser celandine, is a low-growing perennial plant native to Europe and Asia. It features glossy, heart-shaped leaves and bright yellow, buttercup-like flowers. Thriving in moist woodland areas and meadows, it forms dense carpets in early spring. While admired for its early blooms, lesser celandine can become invasive in some regions. Despite this, it provides valuable early-season nectar for pollinators.
