Cardamine bulbifera, commonly known as coralroot bittercress or bulbiferous bittercress, is a perennial woodland wildflower native to Europe. It is distinguished by the small dark bulbils that form in the leaf axils along its stem, allowing the plant to reproduce vegetatively without relying solely on seeds. Its soft lilac to pink flowers appear in spring above elegant, pinnate leaves. Unlike many other bittercresses, Cardamine bulbifera spreads efficiently through these detachable bulbils, a trait that helps it persist in stable, shaded forest habitats where seed dispersal may be limited.
