Wild rocket

Diplotaxis tenuifolia, commonly known as wild rocket or perennial wall rocket, is a hardy perennial wildflower native to southern Europe and western Asia. It is characterized by its deeply lobed, peppery-tasting leaves and bright yellow, four-petaled flowers that bloom from spring to autumn. The name Diplotaxis derives from Greek, meaning “double order,” referring to the plant’s seed arrangement. Unlike many wild mustards, it thrives in dry, rocky, or disturbed soils and is both a resilient pioneer species and a valued edible green, known for its strong flavor in Mediterranean cuisine.
