Perennial flax

Linum perenne, commonly known as perennial flax, is a graceful perennial wildflower native to Europe. It is distinguished by its slender stems and clear sky-blue flowers, each with delicate petals that fall quickly, often within a single day. The genus name Linum has ancient roots, reflecting humanity’s long association with flax plants. Unlike cultivated flax, Linum perenne is valued for its fine, airy appearance and its ability to thrive in dry, open landscapes, where its fleeting blooms create a constantly changing mosaic of blue.
