Rosy scorzonera

Scorzonera rosea, commonly known as rosy scorzonera, is a perennial wildflower native to the mountains and grasslands of central and southeastern Europe. It is recognized by its soft pink flower heads, a rare trait within the genus Scorzonera, whose species typically bear yellow blooms. The species name rosea refers directly to this rose-colored appearance. Like its relatives, it belongs to the daisy family, but its delicate coloring gives it a notably different character from the more familiar scorzoneras. Found mainly in open mountain meadows and limestone grasslands, it is a characteristic component of some of Europe’s most species-rich alpine landscapes.
